Alley Poyner Macchietto Architecture will accept bids from qualified Contractors for Façade Improvements in downtown Red Oak, IA funded through a CDBG Grant Red Oak, IA 51566 until 2:00 PM CST, Tuesday, October 28th, 2014. Each Bid shall be submitted on the Bid Form provided with the Bidding Documents. No oral, facsimile or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Bids shall be addressed and delivered to the Red Oak City Hall, located at 601 N. 6th Street, Red Oak, IA 51566 until 2:00 PM on the 28th day of October, 2014, Attention: City Administrator, in sealed 9x12 envelopes marked with the Project Name, Downtown Red Oak Façade Improvement Community Development Block Grant and name, address and phone number of Bidder. All bids shall be sealed and plainly marked. Any alteration of the Bid Form may be cause for rejection of the Bid.

This project will require Davis Bacon Wage Rates.
No sales tax shall be included in the prices quoted and no sales tax will be required to be paid for materials used on the project. The city will issue an Authorization Letter Exemption Certificate to the Contractor to be used for purchasing of materials for the project.
Project Description:
The City of Red Oak, IA, is conducting a Downtown Revitalization Project consisting of Façade Improvements for 15-20 participating properties within Red Oak's commercial corridor. Participating properties are located primarily around Fountain Square Park on East Coolbaugh, East Reed, North Fourth and North Third Streets. The specific scope of work for the project varies on a building by building basis: Generally, improvements include new aluminum & wood storefront systems, repair and/or replacement of second & third story windows, new storm windows, new doors for accessing second story residences, exterior paint, selective masonry repainting, repair and/or replacement of fabric awnings, new signage, and new window address numbers. These improvements are being funded with a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) awarded to the City of Red Oak, with matching funds from Red Oak's Downtown Urban Renewal Board and from individual property owners.

Bid Documents may be obtained from the office of A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc., 4320 S. 89th Street, Omaha, NE 68127 (402)592-4950 upon receipt of a refundable deposit in the amount of $50.00 payable to The City of Red Oak. *A CURRENT Builder's Card will also be accepted in lieu of deposit check.
CD's and Downloads containing a full set of Bid Documents in PDF format are available upon receipt of a non-refundable fee in the amount of $25.00 payable to A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc.
Only complete sets of Bid Documents may be obtained; no partial set orders are allowed.
If shipping of Bid Documents is required, there is a non-refundable fee in the amount of $35.00 payable to A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc.
If shipping of CD is required, there is a flat fee in the amount of $9.00 payable to A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc.
Bid Documents MUST be returned within 30 calendar days of Bid Opening to obtain a deposit refund.
*One reminder phone call will be placed.
If Bid Documents are NOT returned within stipulated time period, deposit will be forfeited.
