Project Description:
1. Project generally consists of the construction of a building addition, expanding the existing 2-story library facility to the east on property owned by the city and previously acquired for library expansion, as well as interior renovation of the existing building with the scope of renovation varying by area.
a. New Construction, Site - work includes, but is not limited to the following:
1) Selective demolition, excavation and grading as required for installation of new descending concrete ramp system and related stairs to negotiate existing grade to new entry terrace serving building addition; installation of new vehicle drive and drop-off area including access to new thru-wall drive-up library materials depository at new addition.
b. New Construction Building Addition - work includes, but is not limited to the following:
1) Addition is partially two stories and partially one story. Structural Steel frame with Concrete Masonry Unit bearing walls on spread footings; brick masonry exterior with CMU backup and metal stud backup at limited upper level locations; new plumbing, HVAC, electrical, alarm and detection, and automatic fire suppression system. At the two story area of the addition, new stairs and a new three-stop elevator and associated components are included.
c. Existing Building - work includes, but is not limited to the following:
1) Renovation work at existing building: The scope and extent of renovation work at the existing building varies by area and ranges from comprehensive renovation to light refurbishment. New HVAC systems, new alarm and detection system, and new automatic fire suppression system will be installed throughout.

Contractors may obtain drawings and specifications for the work from the office of A & D Technical Supply Co., located at 4320 South 89th St, Omaha, NE 68127, (402) 592-4950 ex. 4, or by order through their Virtual Plan Room at www.adtechsupply.com.
A Refundable Deposit of $100.00 / or Builders Cards will be required to obtain Bidding Documents.
Checks made payable to City of Shenandoah.
Any bidder upon returning the documents in good condition within 14 days of the public opening of the bids, shall be returned the deposit in full.
If shipping is required, there is a flat rate of $ 20.00 per set (Please address all checks for shipping to A&D Technical Supply Plan Room).
