Sealed proposals from qualified bidders for furnishing all materials, labor and skills necessary and
incidental to perform all work described in the Proposed Contract Documents entitled: Corning Iowa Downtown Storefronts
Corning, Iowa will be received at the Corning City Hall, located at 601 6th Street, Corning, Iowa, 50841 until 2:00 p.m. Central Daylight Time on Thursday, July 14, 2011 where all qualified bids will be opened and read aloud.
The City of Corning is collaborating with Main Street Corning and the Adams Community Economic Development Corporation to implement a CDBG Grant from IDED from façade improvements meeting Iowa Green Streets requirements to approximately 30 buildings. CDBG requires Davis-Bacon wages to be followed. The City will contract with the successful General Construction firm to perform the façade improvements. Such improvements generally include tuck pointing, painting, window and door replacement and/or repair, installation of awnings, accessibility improvements, signage, and related work to exterior of buildings. Construction cost range is approximately $600,000.00.

Contractors may obtain drawings and specifications for the work from the office of A & D Technical Supply Co., located at 4320 South 89th St, Omaha, NE 68127, (402) 592-4950 ex. 4, or by order through their Virtual Plan Room at www.adtechsupply.com.
A Refundable Deposit of $ 50.00 per set is required for this project.
Checks made payable to City of Corning.
The entire deposit will be refunded upon the return of the Documents to A & D Technical Supply Co., in good condition, within 10 days after the Bid Opening.
If shipping is required, there is a flat rate of $ 20.00 per set (Please address all checks for shipping to A&D Tech Supply Plan Room at 4320 S. 89th St. Omaha, Ne. 68127).
