Work covered by Contract Documents: The building design for Norris Middle School consist of renovating approximately 90%
(exception of the locker rooms and some back of house spaces) of the existing building,
two building additions, a new administration area where the Auditorium once existed,
stage in the existing gym, and a new main entry.
The south building addition is approximately 14,825 square feet on two levels and
serves as a storm safe area on the main level. The courtyard area building addition is approximately 26,800 square feet on two
levels. The new administration space is approximately 6,700 square feet.
Every existing classroom will be renovated and there will be 20 additional classrooms
added to the school. The design also consists of a new media center, new student and
staff restrooms, teacher planning areas, and an enlarged cafeteria.
The design for Norris includes a new bus pick-up and drop-off drive, parent pick-up and
drop-off lane, renovated parking lots, ADA compliant walkways, new landscaping and site
lighting.
The building will be fully sprinkled, equipped with a new HVAC system, new electrical
systems, new plumbing fixtures, as well as new lighting fixtures throughout.
