Bid Info:   City of Norfolk will accept bids from qualified Contractors until 11:00 am, local time, on January 27, 2017 at the City Offices at 309 North 5th Street, Norfolk, NE 68701. The contractor shall submit bids in 9 x 12 envelopes with “PROPOSAL, NORFOLK PUBLIC LIBRARY” and the name of the bidder written clearly on its front. Bids will be opened publicly and reviewed before accepted. Bids received after this time will not be accepted.

Public Notes:
The Work includes but is not limited to:
1. A multi-phased renovation of and addition to the existing Norfolk Public Library – both approximately 20,000 square feet. The new construction will utilize structural steel framing – much of it exposed – and have exterior walls which are primarily masonry veneer and glass. The existing construction utilizes a structural steel frame and has non-load bearing architectural precast exterior wall panels. These panels will partially remain, and select existing panels will be relocated. Select existing structural steel frame will also be retrofitted or replaced.
2. The project will be phased, and the library will remain open for the entirety of the construction period. The existing server room and fiber optic lines will need to remain operational during construction, and great care will be taken by the contractor to protect these elements. A contractor proposed phasing plan will be developed and reviewed alongside the client and architect.
3. Interior work consists of meeting spaces, staff spaces, an information technologies suite, restrooms, and library collection. Cleaning and refinishing will be required at existing elements, with new construction finishes including interior masonry veneer, interior thin-brick veneer, wood paneling, wood ceilings, gypsum board walls and ceilings, acoustical panel ceilings, carpet tile, cork flooring, and tile flooring. Much of the new structure will be exposed, and great care will be taken to install all elements in a clean and orderly manner.

A Refundable Deposit of $100.00 per set is required.
Checks should be made payable to City of Norfolk.

Builders Cards are also accepted for this project.

The entire deposit will be refunded upon the return of the Documents to A&D Technical Supply Co., in good condition, within 30 days after the Bid Opening.

If shipping is required, there is a flat rate of $40.00 per set (Please address all checks for shipping to A&D Tech Supply Plan Room at 4320 S. 89th St. Omaha, NE. 68127).
