The work consists of reconstruction of the existing West stone stair entry. The stone cheek
walls shall be disassembled to the extent necessary to construct new concrete treads, risers,
and landing as detailed to comply with current codes. All exposed foundation masonry shall
be thoroughly coated with specified damp proofing material. Stone cheek walls shall be
reconstructed to appear as originally designed. In coordination with the stair, the existing
underground vault west of the stair shall be dismounted and filled, the sidewalk, stair, and
grade shall be adjusted as detail to provide positive drainage. Specific windows noted on the
drawing shall be removed and replaced with clad windows matching existing clad windows.
