Sealed bids addressed to the Board of Education of the Omaha Public Schools, Douglas County, Nebraska, for the Omaha North High School; Fire, Life Safety and Security Improvements, Bid Number 15-040, for the Omaha Public Schools, in accordance with plans, specifications and Contract Documents adopted by the District, prepared by Carlson West Povondra Architects, will be received in the office of District Operational Services, Omaha Public Schools, 3215 Cuming Street, Omaha, Nebraska 68131-2024 until 2:00 PM CDST, Thursday May 21, 2015. At that time, the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud and tabulation will be prepared to present to the Board of Education at the next regular meeting for consideration in awarding the Contract.
Any bid received after the bid closing time will be returned unopened. The time clock maintained by the District Operational Services office shall be the official clock utilized to determine the time for close of bidding; the contractor should allow sufficient time to check into the facility to submit its bid.

The project consists of replacing interior doors and hardware to accommodate new intruder hardware functions, access control systems at exterior doors and strengthen/securing areas for use as storm shelters.
The following is a general description of the Work.
a. At classrooms and administrative spaces, mortised hardware is to be replaced with new intruder function hardware. At existing doors without existing mortised hardware, replace door and hardware with new intruder function.
b. Add security access to exterior doors. Doors not receiving security access still to receive new security hardware.
c. Existing storm areas to receive new markings, storm doors and/or reinforced walls to increase their level of protection.

Bid Documents may be obtained from the office of A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc., 4320 S. 89th Street, Omaha, NE 68127 (402)592-4950 upon receipt of a refundable deposit in the amount of $75.00 payable to Omaha Public Schools. *A Builder's Card will NOT be accepted in lieu of deposit check.
CD's and Downloads containing a full set of Bid Documents in PDF format are available upon receipt of a non-refundable fee in the amount of $20.00 payable to A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc.
Only complete sets of Bid Documents may be obtained; no partial set orders will be issued.
If shipping of Bid Documents is required, there is a non-refundable fee in the amount of $25.00 payable to A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc.
If shipping of CD is required, there is a flat fee in the amount of $9.00 payable to A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc.
Bid Documents MUST be returned, in good condition, to the office of A&D Technical Supply Co., Inc. within 14 calendar days of Bid Opening to obtain a deposit refund.
If Bid Documents are NOT returned within stipulated time period, deposit will be forfeited.
