Millard Public Schools (MPS) is requesting proposals from contractors for the Elevator Modernization of
the existing Elevator at the Don Stroh Administration Center located at 5606 S. 147th St., Omaha NE
68137. The project scope includes the following:
The following is a scope of work that needs to be included for the elevator:
- New non-proprietary microprocessor controller. Include landing system and all standard features.
Also include both car and hall security to allow for either card reader or key switches in the hall
stations and car.

New non-proprietary power unit including new tank, valve, motor, pump, silencer, piping,
hydraulic oil, etc.
- New closed loop non-proprietary (GAL) car door operator. Also include new car door tracks,
hangers, zone locking clutch, fire tabs, gibs, roller assemblies, rollers and related equipment for
complete new car side.
- New infra-red door protection edge.
- Complete new traveling cables and hoistway wiring to accommodate new equipment.
- New fixtures including; car operating panel, hall stations at all floors, hall lanterns at all floors,
Include all keyswitches, jewels, etc. to comply with code. This includes fire service,
communication failure, hoistway access, instructions, etc.
- Video and audio emergency communication capabilities built into car operating panel to comply
with code.
- Miscellaneous items to comply with code as required or necessary including car top railing, pit
ladder, car top inspection station, toe guard, etc.
- Include all permits and coordinate testing with state.
- All material handling, adjusting, and testing all equipment with other trades.
- Coordinate all work with other trades, MPS will not be responsible for costs associated with
coordinating work with other trades.
- Include all building related work required to comply with code.
