Project consists of new construction of a 9,997 sf fire station for the City of Grand Island. The
project will be located on the existing site of the current Fire Station No.3 and the current
station is to remain operational during construction. Once the new fire station has been
completed and operational the existing fire station will be demolished.
The three bay fire station has sleeping accommodation for six, a kitchen, dining and day
room, fitness area, bathrooms, captain’s office, report office, conference and apparatus bay
support spaces. Located on the second floor is the mechanical, electrical, IT and EMS
storage rooms.
The wood and CMU framed structure has support steel to assist in carrying loads and an
ICC-500 storm shelter. Exterior materials are stone and fiber cementitious siding with
composition shingles.
