Public Notes:
The work called for in these bid documents includes the removal of three existing boilers, LES model VW-135, and the installation in the same location of three new boilers meeting all of the requirements of the Contract Documents. All piping directly associated with the boilers will be demolished and new piping will be installed to make a true primary/secondary boiler arrangement. Hydronic accessories will be replaced, including the air separator and expansion tank. New pressure regulating valve and gas piping will be provided from the gas entry to each boiler. A section of the exterior wall will need to be removed and the surrounding area excavated to facilitate the installation of the new boilers. Contractor will also be responsible for removal and replacement of the exterior wall, the excavation, and the placement of new sod. The existing hot water pumps will remain in place. New variable frequency drives (“VFDs” or “VFD”) will be provided for soft start on the existing pumps. (VFD installation to be broken out as a bid alternate for possible value engineering (VE)).
